The library in Bacalar emerges from a need identified during site research, highlighting risks associated with the recent exploitation of its natural surroundings, lack of care by locals and tourists, and the absence of protection programs for the Bacalar Lagoon.
This library spans a total area of 865.90 square meters distributed across two floors, providing Bacalar’s residents and visitors with spaces for exchange and connection. It aims to foster research and preserve the natural habitat, creating an economic attraction through responsible tourism that enhances the region’s value.
This library acts as an educational settlement and a hub for protection, aspiring to leave a lasting mark in Bacalar, committed to shaping a sustainable future for the planet.
